Summary
The article discusses the genesis of the coming into existence of the idea of the so-called uniform front of the labour movement and its reception in the circles of Polish communists in the years 1922–1923. Programme materials and articles in their own organ as well as ar-ticles in the periodical of the Polish Socialist Party and left-wing trade unions were a basis of this analysis. The article points out the difculties of the communists in gaining other political organizations, especially PPS, to this concept. It also stresses reasons for ceasing, at the end of 1923, further promotion, under the infuence of the Moscow-controlled Com-munist International.
