Streszczenie
Wisła decydowała w znacznym stopniu o warunkach żeglugowych i tworzyła
perspektywy dla kontaktów gospodarczych pomiędzy ośrodkami położonymi nad
jej brzegiem. Aglomeracja krakowska, będąca największym w Małopolsce rynkiem
handlu drewnem, materiałami budowlanymi i zarazem centrum życia gospodarczego,
korzystała z sąsiedztwa rzeki spławnej. Wraz z nią z taniego transportu wodnego
korzystali przedstawiciele wszystkich warstw społecznych, począwszy od króla,
a skończywszy na ludności wiejskiej.
Summary
The Vistula River largely determined the conditions of navigation and created prospects for
economic contacts between the centers located on its banks. The Cracow agglomeration,
which was the largest market in Lesser Poland for trade in timber, construction materials and
at the same time the center of economic life, benefited from the proximity of the navigable river.
Along with it, representatives of all social classes took advantage of cheap water transport, from
the king to the rural population.
