Celem artykułu jest analiza okoliczności zawierania małżeństw w parafii Nowy Korczyn w latach 1751–1800. Podstawę źródłową stanowią księgi metrykalne. Zastosowano metody statystyczne oraz rekonstrukcji rodzin. Przeanalizowano sezonowość, tygodniowy rozkład ślubów,
wiek i stan cywilny małżonków, ich mobilność terytorialną oraz dobór świadków. Wnioski
wskazują na wpływ czynników religijnych i ekonomicznych na rytm zawierania małżeństw, dominację ślubów kawalera z panną, średni wiek nowożeńców typowy dla społeczności zachodnioeuropejskich, wysoki poziom endogamii związków czy staranny dobór świadków ślubów.
The aim of this article is to analyze the circumstances surrounding marriage formation in
the parish of Nowy Korczyn between 1751 and 1800. The primary source material consists of parish register books. The study employs statistical methods and family reconstruction
method. It examines seasonality, the weekly distribution of weddings, the age and marital status
of the spouses, their territorial mobility, and the selection of witnesses. The findings indicate
the influence of religious and economic factors on the timing of marriages, a predominance of
unions between bachelors and maidens, an average age at marriage typical of Western European
communities, a high level of endogamy, and a deliberate selection of wedding witnesses.
