Miejscem, które stwarzało idealne warunki do rozwoju chorób w świecie starożytnych Greków, był żołnierski obóz. W artykule podjęto próbę konfrontacji pojęć nosos i poliorkia, a więc cho-roby w obozie wojskowym założonym w celu oblegania wroga. Przedmiotem analizy są greckie źródła literackie opisujące oblężenia prowadzone w okresie archaicznym i klasycznym.
In the ancient Greek world, the military camp created perfect conditions for disease to thrive. The article is an attempt to confront the concepts of nosos and poliorkia, meaning 'disease' in an army camp set up to besiege the enemy. The subjects of analysis are Greek literary sources describing sieges laid in archaic and classical periods.
