This work is devoted to discussing the problem of Poles’ participation in the economic life of Western Siberia at the turn of the 19th century. During this period, many of them ‒ including people from the exile community ‒ already played a major role in the economic life of this rapidly growing land at that time. They were the owners of many industrial and commercial plants. Some earned considerable wealth and thanks to that they could be animators and patrons of the activities of the Polish diaspora in Western Siberia.
