Based on the memories of Polish exiles, the author reproduces the image of one of the largest Siberian cities, which became the center of political exile in the 19th century. In the course of research, the author concludes that the city’s image was influenced by the experience of personal contacts of exiles with residents and representatives of the ad-ministrative elite, and architectural and landscape details were in the background.
